How Short Can I Make These?

Super Tuesday.

(apparently pretty short)

Two Step

Well, two and a half to be exact. Both Grandmas were watching Oliver while I drove home from work tonight when he took his first two and a half steps. They were thrilled.

Dear John

So I couldn't not mention that I am saddened by John Edwards resignation of candidacy for President. He is a good man. In spite of his litigating ways, he brought a level of integrity to the race that I didn't see in any of the other candidates. I am sure he is withholding his support of either of the frontrunners so as to leave all doors open in terms of running mate possibilities. And more power to him. My dream might be a Clinton/Edwards administration with Joe Biden as Secretary of State. Too much old Washington? Maybe I am naïve. Maybe its an Obama/Edwards ticket I am wanting. Clearly the confusion hasn't yet lifted. I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky that we have excellent choices to make. We are in such a much better position now than 4 years ago and even, actually 8. All I know is that my 10 year old daughter wants to hear Hillary Clinton speak. She is asking to go to a rally. Could I be more proud?

In closing, I offer congratulations to John for a campaign well run, for showing us the passion and courage to attempt to extract us from the horrific mess Shrub has so arrogantly gotten us into. Thank you, Mr. Edwards. We hope to be seeing much more of you soon.

6 Things

I have an assignment. If I understand it correctly because I have been "tagged", I have to list 6 things about me. Here we go.

1. When I was 20 years old and a sophomore in college, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease (non-sclerosing, stage IIA). I was treated for 4 months with radiation only and have been disease-free ever since. (Knocking on wood.)

2. I used to sing lead in a rock band.

3. I have a tattoo of a fish on my right shoulder blade.

4. I really love France and might live there one day. Paris maybe or perhaps Aix en Provence.

5. Here are some people I find inspiring: Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Bill Clinton, Bill Maher, Mohandas K. Ghandi, Robert Rauschenberg

6. When I get nervous, I chew on my lower lip.

Day One

First things first. First come first served. First time ever I saw your face. This is the first day of the rest of your life.

It is the day of the Florida primary election. It is exactly 12 days after my son's first birthday. It is 3 days before the first day of February. I never thought I'd start a blog quoting Roberta Flack. But there are many things I've done which I never expected to do. I've learned to stop being surprised by the surprises.

I am a member of a group of women who all had babies at approximately the same time. Apparently today is the day we each start a personal blog. I've been tagged. So this is my blog. Stay tuned.
